Project challenge:
Schweppes is the world’s first brand of carbonated soft drinks, with a history spanning over two centuries. Its invention dates back to the British Raj in India. At that time, the drink was called Schweppes Tonic Water. Quinine water, a fever remedy, was mixed with lemon or lime and gin by the British. Upon returning home, they retained their fondness for the bitter drink. The drink became widespread throughout the world. By 1792, an entire factory in London, the capital of Great Britain, was producing the carbonated soft drinks now known worldwide as Schweppes.
